Over the years, the number of lesbian bars in the US has decreased to only 21. It’s hard to believe that there are so few cherished spaces for the lesbian community, but we celebrate the bar owners who work hard to keep these spots open. Luckily, a new initiative has begun, The Lesbian Bar Project , that aims to “celebrate, support, and preserve the remaining lesbian bars that exist in the US.”
